2020 Dodge Challenger at Steve Jones Dodge Chrysler Jeep

With muscle cars continuing to be a dying breed, it can be hard to find a genuine version of this type of vehicle. Luckily the 2020 Dodge Challenger answers the bell with its lavish horsepower and classic style. Most muscle cars are famous for their lack of practicality, but the Challenger gets past that due to a large amount of trunk room and spacious and comfortable front seats. Seeing as how this is a muscle car, you can expect a lot of power, and the Hellcat Redeye has plenty of it with its ridiculous 797 horsepower. Handling the Challenger has become even more comfortable as the base SXT has the option of all-wheel-drive. The Challenger is one of our favorite vehicles on the market today, continue reading to find out all it has to offer!

What engines are there to choose from?

The 2020 Challenger has multiple engines for you to choose from, with each being more powerful than the last. Kicking things off is a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 305 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, which is available for the SXT and the GT. The engine comes standard with rear-wheel-drive with the option for all-wheel-drive if you choose. Moving up to the R/T brings the first in the long line of V8s. In this case, it's a 5.7-liter V8 that pumps out 372 horsepower with an eight-speed automatic transmission and 375 horsepower with the six-speed manual. Next up is the R/T Scat Pack, which brings a 6.4-liter V8 with 485 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. The SRT Hellcats tops this with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 717 horsepower. Now, this would be the best if it weren't for the 797 horsepower SRT Hellcat Redeye. All V8 engines, except for the Hellcat Redeye, are available with either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission.

What are notable features on the 2020 Challenger?

Seven trim levels are available for the 2020 Challenger, and each provides a long list of available features. The base SXT comes with 8-inch wheels, keyless ignition and entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Tech features are also impressive as the SXT comes with a 7-inch touchscreen, a rearview camera, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto smartphone integration. Moving up to the GT gets you 20-inch wheels, foglights, a hood scoop, rear parking sensors, remote ignition, a sport suspension, a performance steering system, more aggressively bolstered front seats, and a sport steering wheel with shift buttons. More terrific features can be found with the R/T, which comes with a chrome fuel filler door, upgraded brakes, a limited-slip differential, and an active sport exhaust. Stepping up to the R/T 392 adds launch control, a Line Lock for drag strip burnouts, Brembo performance brakes, a higher-performance sport-tuned suspension, configurable driving modes, distinctive styling elements, a black fuel door, a rear spoiler, heated cloth sport seats, a heated steering wheel, an 8.4-inch touchscreen with the newest version of Uconnect, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The top two trims are the SRT Hellcat and the Hellcat Redeye. These trims come with unique exterior styling, a dual-snorkel hood, a sportier adaptive suspension, six-piston Brembo brakes, quad exhaust tips, and interior ambient lighting.

What are some of the safety features?

Your safety is no laughing matter, which is why the 2020 Challenger comes with plenty of features that are designed to keep you secure on the open road. Available are automatic high-beam headlamps that switch from low to high beams when they detect ambient lighting coming from oncoming vehicles. Also available is a Blind-Spot Monitoring System that assists you in making safer lane changes when another vehicle enters one of your blind spot areas. Finally, the Adaptive Cruise Control System adjusts your driving speed to help maintain a pre-selected distance between you and the traffic ahead of you.
