RAM Looks to Sport More Team Spirit

Around the Steve Jones Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, we are always chatting up about last night's game, whether it's baseball, football, or another sport. We know many of our RAM drivers in the Henderson area are big sports fans too, so when we heard that the auto brand may be expanding into special edition trucks representing different sports, teams, and cities, we had to share with you.

You may remember in November 2011, RAM released a limited edition 1500 that reflected Detroit's professional hockey team, the Red Wings. 3,000 units were sold which exceeded RAM's expectations by three folds.

With such success, RAM is looking to get on round two with sports-inspired pickup trucks. Fred Diaz, the head of the RAM truck brand, said on the topic, "It's actually an experiment that we did with Detroit and it worked out so incredibly well, we're looking at the possibility of doing other things with other sports. You have to have a rabid fan base. Then you have to get the rights. We've got our feelers out to see what could work."1

Though RAM wasn't able to bring the Red Wings package back this year, they plan on doing so next season. The special edition 1500 featured the hockey team's logo on the front-seat headrests, optional Red Wings embroidered leather seats, exclusive graphics on the tailgate and rear bed sides, and was available in red, white, and black-- the team's official colors.

What teams or sports would you like to see a special edition RAM truck represent? Leave us a comment down below with your suggestions. With baseball season well under way, we have our fingers crossed for RAM to produce a truck reflecting our favorite team. We're already fantasizing about a large and in charge RAM 5500 decked out in some spirited attire. What do you think?

In the meantime, stop by 322 W 4th Street in Owensboro, KY and test drive a new RAM today!
